In my last post I said that you needed to find yourself some digital marketing Jedi Knights to follow. Well I thought I might make it a little easier for you to get started by compiling a list of some of the best and brightest minds in the business today. So here without further ado, is Part I of this series.
Mack is a social media consultant, trainer and speaker. He is passionate about social media and is excited by the human connections that can be made when social media tools are used properly. Every Sunday night starting at 8pm Central he hosts a conversation on Twitter called #blogchat, where a different blogging topic is discussed each week. Oh and he is a big fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ann Handley is the Chief Content Officer of MarketingProfs. Ann conceptualizes, develops, and manages content for both B2B and consumer publications, particularly for the Web. She also writes for the MarketingProfs Daily Fix blog, the Huffington Post and her personal blog, Annarchy. Her new book Content Rules hits stores the first week of December. She aspires to one day write for the New Yorker.
Lee is the founder and CEO of TopRank Online Marketing, a digital marketing agency that works with B2B companies to create better connections with customers and improve sales through search, content marketing and social media. He also publishes Online Marketing Blog (toprankblog.com), a top ranked blog on search marketing, social media and content marketing. Toprankblog also maintains the Biglist, an amazing list of more than 400 of the best blogs covering SEO and other digital marketing topics.
Chris wears a number of hats. He is President at New Marketing Labs, a new media marketing agency for medium-to-large businesses. He is president at Human Business Works, an education and media company for small and solo businesses. He is also a Co-Founder at Third Tribe Marketing, an online community for marketing education. He does a lot of professional speaking and he has also found time to be a New York Times/Wall Street Journal bestselling author. Oh and he is always sharing great content on Twitter.
Go Forth and Learn
Now you have somewhere to start. The combined digital marketing knowledge of the people above is mind-boggling, but lucky for you and me they love sharing the things they have learned. So get out there and start tapping into their knowledge. Read their blogs, follow them on Twitter, find out who they learn from and follow those people. Trust me, you will be glad that you did.
Be sure to stop back soon for Part II of this series where I give you another amazing foursome to follow.
