Nice post, Kyle!

It's a good point. It shows how raw numbers can be misleading and it's the percentage that matters more. I'm wondering how this insight could be applied to other practices, like web marketing. I suppose it suggests there are ways to "spin" your stats to get a marketing benefit, but also maybe there are numbers in Analytics that should be ignored.

What's the saying? There are three kinds of untruths: lies, damn lies and statistics!

Hi Jonathan,
Establishing trust is especially important in the B2B world since you typically have longer sales cycles and more expensive products/services to sell. And people need to remember that in the B2B space you are still selling to an actual person and not a company. If that decision maker does not not trust you the chances of making the sell are slim.

Hi Kyle,
This is something I've been thinking a lot about recently. As you mentioned, company loyalty is all but dead. But careers still must go on, particularly those with something to sell. With all of the places to have a web presence, I make sure that my profile picture and voice are the same. Trust is so important in my business and my targets must buy into ME before the company, and so a consistent look is very important to attaining personal brand recognition and loyalty.

May I also suggest a goal setting system called GoalsOnTrack. It's a web-based goal tracking and time management tool, with a very nice web 2.0 interface, and has many nice features to help you keep track of goals, and most importantly it lets you better organize daily todos towards achieving goals. Highly recommend it for serious goal achievers.

Chris,

You are welcome. I found your post pretty interesting. Which of those reputation services do you use the most?

Sean,

I included your post because it hits home with me. I definitely need to get a better Avatar picture for Twitter and all of my other profile pages.

Hope you had a good vacation.

Chat with you soon.
